An excellent example of early 1980s post-punk history, this original 1982 UK first pressing of U2's non-album single "A Celebration" is a premier find for indie and alternative rock collectors. Issued on the classic Island Records label with the catalogue number WIP 6770, this 7-inch 45 rpm release features the distinctive black and white label variant complete with a 4-pronged push-out centre design. This early variant comes housed in its original card picture sleeve.

The dead wax area reveals definitive first-press stamped matrix data, showing WIP 6770 A-2U on the front side and WIP 6770 B-1U on the reverse. The runouts also feature the prestigious Sound Clinic and Town House mastering credits, including the famous "Jonz" etching which confirms the direct involvement of legendary engineer John Dent. The A-side showcases the energetic, driving title track, whilst the flip side offers the fan-favourite rarity "Trash, Trampoline And The Party Girl".

The condition of this archive piece is graded at VG+/EX. The card picture sleeve is well-preserved, exhibiting some light surface wear consistent with age, but remaining entirely intact without splits.
