Inspired by the massive success of the early-80s "Stars on 45" novelty craze, Capitol Records in America originally masterminded this unique single to directly promote The Beatles' 1982 movie compilation album Reel Music. Parlophone initially hesitated to distribute the mashup in Great Britain, but high import demand eventually forced this official UK press release. It features a classic black and silver Parlophone label layout, complete with the early-1980s "ALL RIGHTS" rim text configuration, a fully intact 4-pronged push-out centre, and its original illustrated picture sleeve.

The rapid-fire A-side features a unique mega-mix track constructed entirely from short excerpts of seven tracks featured on the Reel Music LP. Listeners are taken on a fast-paced studio journey through "Magical Mystery Tour", "All You Need Is Love", "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", "I Should Have Known Better", "A Hard Day's Night", "Ticket To Ride", and "Get Back". Flipping the 45 over reveals the standalone B-side choice: the vibrant studio track "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You", substituting a planned interview segment at the very last minute due to licensing issues.
