The Parlophone PMC 7027 is the original 1967 UK mono first pressing of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a record that redefined the possibilities of the studio and the concept of the "album" itself. This is a dedicated mono mix, created under the direct supervision of The Beatles themselves, and is famously preferred by audiophiles over the stereo version for its superior punch, depth, and specific sonic variations - most notably the noticeably different speed and phasing on "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

This copy is a highly collectible first pressing variant, featuring the essential XEX 637-1 / XEX 638-1 matrix numbers paired with the scarce Hayes printing error on the side 1 label, which reads "SOLD IN.U.K." with an extra period punctuation mark. The labels carry the era-correct 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' perimeter print. It remains a remarkably complete set, housed in its original fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve and featuring the iconic red-and-white psychedelic "Fools" inner sleeve. Also included is the original brown-backed green cardboard cut-outs insert, designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth, featuring the printed band signatures and various badges and moustaches that encouraged the listener to interact with the music's visual world.
