A superb piece of British rock history, this listing showcases a definitive transitional variation of the monumental 1969 Apple Records masterpiece (PCS 7088). Dating from around 1971, this represents the very first of the second UK issues, uniquely retaining the legendary earliest -2/-1 audio matrix configurations stamped into the runout grooves. The dark green Apple labels feature a distinct layout variation, showcasing a large Ⓟ 1969 copyright symbol alongside the prominent 33⅓ speed designation moved to the centre. Crucially, the side B label includes the "Her Majesty" credit right after "The End", and a quirky typo variation means track B5 is printed as "Mean Mr Mustard" on the jacket but reads "Mean Mr. Mustard" on the label.

The packaging consists of a beautifully preserved, fully laminated picture sleeve that features the sought-after "drain showing" photography variant on the famous zebra crossing. The rear of the cover displays the correctly aligned Apple logo, and the package comes complete with a standard white paper inner sleeve.

The outer jacket achieves a strong VG+ grade, remaining bright and clean with some vintage fading along the left-hand border. The vintage vinyl disc also grades at a clear VG+, retaining its deep gloss and showing only a handful of superficial surface marks. It is a great collectable copy to experience the historic B-side medley, "Come Together", and "Something" through the punchy sound of early British vinyl mastering.
