A brilliant option for Beatles collectors seeking a different late-seventies analogue listening copy, this 1978 UK stereo edition of A Hard Day's Night (PCS 3058) carries an unusual master matrix curiosity. This specific release features the black, silver, and white "Two EMI Box" Parlophone label style with the updated "EMI RECORDS LTD" rim text. In the dead wax, the side one runout uniquely shows a number 2 stamped directly over the top of an original number 1 matrix indicator (YEX 126 - 2 3 41), whilst side two carries the definitive -3 master matrix with individual 1MH stamper letters and the signature "HTM" scribe of master lacquer cutter Harry Moss.

The album is presented in its original Garrod & Lofthouse picture sleeve, featuring the standard "stereo" header clearly visible on the front cover.

We grade the sleeve as VG. The outer jacket is in nice clean condition overall, though it shows a couple of small vintage tears on the reverse side. The vinyl disc itself achieves an Excellent (EX) condition grade, remaining exceptionally clean and brilliant. It retains a beautiful gloss with only minimal signs of use. This variant delivers an incredibly crisp, late-seventies stereo mix cut by one of EMI's most legendary mastering engineers, making it a fantastic addition to any turntable rotation.
