This scarce 1969 UK stereo pressing of A Collection Of Beatles Oldies (PCS 7016) compilation is a stellar acquisition for serious Fab Four archives, capturing a fleeting transitional era in Parlophone label design. Bridging the gap between the original 1960s yellow and black text and the later 1970s two-box layouts, this elusive variant features the short-lived black, silver, and white single-EMI box design alongside the critical "THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD" rim text. For analogue purists, this copy is highly collectible because it boasts the earliest true first-generation 1G/1G matrix configuration machine-stamped into the dead wax.

The album is presented in its original front-laminated flipback jacket printed by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd., complete with a vintage EMI advertising inner sleeve. This particular sleeve version is distinct because the "stereo" logo sits inside the white border at the top right, just outside the main cover illustration. Looking closely at the runouts confirms the historic stamped identifiers: YEX 619 - 1G 2 PN on Side A and YEX 620 - 1G 2 PL on Side B. We have evaluated the jacket at VG as the front is very clean, though it shows a laminate bubble along the top edge and a couple of small tears on the bottom rear flipback; the vinyl disc itself is in a sparkling Excellent (EX) condition.

Spanning a massive 16 tracks, this 33 rpm compilation offers a high-energy journey through Beatlemania, notably featuring the rock-and-roll classic "Bad Boy" which was unavailable on contemporary UK studio albums. Treat your turntable to incredible late-sixties acoustic warmth on world-famous masterpieces like "She Loves You", "We Can Work It Out", "Day Tripper", "Paperback Writer", and "I Want To Hold Your Hand". Secure this fully verified, uniquely structured matrix rarity for your collection today.
