This is a great collectable copy of the definitive Queen - A Night At The Opera original UK 1st pressing LP (EMI, 1975, EMTC 103). A true rock music find for analogue audiophiles and serious collectors, this landmark release features the legendary -2/-2 matrix terminations along with the iconic "BLAIR'S" mastering credits etched into the runouts. These coveted dead wax markings prove the lacquer was cut by legendary Abbey Road Studios engineer Chris Blair directly from the original master tapes, ensuring the absolute finest early-generation audio reproduction of songs that include "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend".
This inaugural issue is instantly distinguished by its rare uncredited embossed matt gatefold sleeve printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Limited, completely omitted of the later "crest design © Queen Productions Ltd 1975" text on the front cover. It comes complete with its original cardboard picture inner sleeve featuring the correct 3 die-cut corners.
Forensically graded at VG+/EX, the delicate white gatefold jacket shows some mild surface wear and discolouration, remaining in better condition than most surviving examples of this fragile sleeve. The original inner sleeve has a small split on the bottom edge and light creasing. The vinyl itself is in Excellent, clean condition, displaying a brilliant lustre and promising an exceptional, high-fidelity playback experience of Queen's absolute masterpiece.
