Indie music devotees have a fantastic opportunity to acquire an original UK first-issue vinyl pressing of Morrissey's debut solo masterpiece, "Suedehead". Manufactured by HMV Records in early 1988 under catalogue reference POP 1618, this highly collectable 45 rpm single marks the beginning of the former Smiths frontman's solo career. It remains an essential cornerstone piece for anyone building a comprehensive eighties British indie archive.

This particular disc features the traditional blue and black HMV label design, complete with the classic four-pronged push-out centre layout, and rests inside its original card picture cover. Serious vinyl buyers will instantly spot the unique messages and identifiers machine-stamped and hand-etched into the dead wax. Side A features the legendary runout etching POP 1618 A-1U "DREAMS...ARE JUST...DREAMS", whilst the flip side carries POP 1618 B-1U TY1, confirming its status as a genuine A-1U/B-1U first matrix pressing.

The tracklist delivers two beautiful examples of the singer's quintessential songwriting prowess. The primary side presents the magnificent title track "Suedehead", a guitar-driven pop melody produced by Stephen Street. On the reverse, listeners can enjoy the hauntingly minimalist acoustic companion piece, "I Know Very Well How I Got My Name", a track highly revered by long-time followers of the artist.

Regarding condition, the item receives a very good/excellent grading combination. The iconic outer picture sleeve is in clean shape but exhibits some noticeable wear along the perimeter edges from decades of storage. The vinyl itself is in excellent clean condition, showcasing a brilliant surface shine that ensures high-fidelity audio playback.
