A remarkable collector's piece from the peak era of British melodic rock comes in the form of this 1987 vintage 45 rpm release. This highly collectible package is an exclusive numbered limited edition box set, displaying a stamped limited edition number of 003949 on the inner lid. Inside is the original UK first pressing single, featuring the distinctive black and orange Portrait Records label (Catalogue No. MERV B1) housed in its original card picture sleeve. The single features the polished studio anthem "Let Love Be The Leader" on the top side, backed by an explosive live performance of the song captured at London's iconic Marquee Club in August 1986.

A major highlight for fans is the inclusion of the original five photo-biography insert cards. This set is partially autographed, with four of the five individual cards personally hand-signed by the respective band members: Didge Digital, Pete Jupp, Merv Goldsworthy, and Chris Overland (only lead vocalist Steve Overland's signature is absent). The first-run engineering heritage is fully authenticated by the A2/B1 matrix terminations. The Side A runout features a lovely personal etching that reads MERV 1 A2 THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT - Merv, Didge, Pete, Steve & Chris, while Side B is stamped MERV 1 B1 TY1.

We have evaluated this presentation package overall as Very Good Plus/Excellent (VG+/EX). The outer box shows some light superficial storage wear but remains solid. Crucially, the vinyl disc itself and the biographical inserts are in immaculate, excellent condition, with the record surfaces showing a beautiful gloss that guarantees flawless audio playback.

Numbered vintage box sets featuring genuine period autographs from four key band members are exceptionally difficult to source. This wonderful archive piece represents a fantastic acquisition for any serious AOR, glam metal, or classic British rock collector.
