For devotees tracking the evolution of early rock and roll manufacturing, this 1957 British original 2nd pressing of the Elvis Presley with the Jordanaires - All Shook Up single offers up a brilliant archive piece. Released later in the same year as the debut print to satisfy the enormous UK public appetite for the track, this specific issue represents the immediate subsequent manufacturing run from the EMI factory, making it an essential piece of historical documentation for deep-catalogue collectors.
This version is easily distinguished by its iconic purple His Master's Voice label which uses the clean silver lettering layout that replaced the short-lived gold typeface. The presentation features the beloved Nipper the dog trademark on the right-hand side, alongside a traditional four-pronged push-out centre. The record is presented in a generic plain white paper sleeve. Musically, it delivers the legendary vocal swagger of "All Shook Up" on the lead side, complemented by the soulful backing harmonies of "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" on the flip.
An examination of the deadwax reveals that this pressing still utilised the premium first-cut master plates, carrying the 1N/1N matrix endings. The runouts feature the clean, stamped text reading H2-WW-0256-1N XT 1 T on the A-side and H2-WW-0260-1N XT 1 T on the B-side, with the official XT purchase tax code clearly visible. Released under the Catalogue No. 45-POP 359.
Reaching a highly desirable EX- condition grade, the vinyl surfaces retain a striking, mirror-like gloss. The wax shows only a couple of faint, superficial hairlines that do not impact overall presentation or sound quality. This is an excellent opportunity to add a wonderfully preserved, authentic 1950s UK rockabilly variant to your vinyl shelves.
