An superb collectable from the early sixties British record market, this seven-inch extended play delivers a fantastic snapshot of Elvis Presley's vocal versatility. Issued by RCA under the catalogue reference RCX 175 in 1961, this original UK pressing boasts the vintage black label with silver printing, complete with the highly desirable four-prong push-out centre. Serving as an accurate chronological marker for serious collectors, the paper label features the E/T purchase tax code native to this specific manufacturing run.
An examination of the dead wax reveals crisp, machine-stamped matrix identifiers, displaying K2PH-0277-1C 2D UH H on the first side and K2PH-0278-1C 2D UH H on the second. The record is well preserved inside its original front-laminated flipback picture sleeve, printed by MacNeill Press Ltd and distinctly carrying the March 1961 date stamp of "McN3.61" on the reverse panel. The four-track selection offers a phenomenal mix of rock and heartfelt balladry, opening with the moving "Old Shep" and the bluesy "Any Place Is Paradise" on Side A, whilst the flip side turns up the energy with "Paralysed" and closes with "Is It So Strange".
The condition of this used vinyl record is highly respectable, achieving a strong Very Good Plus grading for both the vinyl and the sleeve. The front of the picture jacket looks clean and shiny, showing only a touch of mild, natural ringwear on the unlaminated rear surface. The seven-inch disc itself remains bright and clean, exhibiting a handful of surface marks that do not impact its excellent overall visual appeal.
