A fantastic find for enthusiasts looking for early British vinyl variants, this particular piece represents an authentic 1961 vintage UK issue of the King's celebrated extended play. While the material initially debuted on the UK market back in 1959, this beautiful early-sixties repress is distinguished by its classic black RCA paper label featuring silver typography and the iconic four-pronged round punch-out centre. Confirming its exact place in the manufacturing chronology, the face of the label is stamped with the period-correct O/T purchase tax code.

Inspecting the dead wax reveals pristine machine-stamped matrix details, reading K2PH-0277-1C CI H OT on the initial side and K2PH-0278-1C 1 CU H OT on the second side. This copy comes housed in its original, front-laminated flipback picture sleeve crafted by MacNeill Press Ltd, which features a distinct June 1961 printing date code of "McN6.61" on the reverse bottom corner. The four-song collection delivers a brilliant demonstration of early rock and roll versatility, transitioning from the poignant storytelling of "Old Shep" and the rhythmic swagger of "Any Place Is Paradise" on the front face, over to the frantic energy of "Paralysed" and the soulful "Is It So Strange" on the flip.

The actual condition of this second-hand record is very nice, with both the vinyl and the outer jacket meriting a decent Very Good Plus grade. The original picture sleeve remains remarkably clean and highly presentable, showing only a minimal amount of superficial handling wear. The seven-inch disc itself looks tidy and retains gloss, exhibiting a few surface marks that do not detract from its highly collectable appearance.
