Originally taped behind closed doors during the fertile studio workshops of the early 1960s, these fascinating, unreleased studio rehearsal versions provide an intimate glimpse into the King's creative methodology. This 1982 United Kingdom forty-five rpm extended play was manufactured as an exclusive archival bonus component for the second volume of the retrospective box set anthology titled The E.P. Collection Vol. 2, catalogued under master reference identifier EP2. Bearing individual reference code RCX 3, this seven-inch vinyl utilises a vintage-style four-pronged push-out centre spindle hub geometry. The disc rests within a spectacular, glossy card jacket completed with classic reverse flipback seams, capturing the high-end manufacturing charm appreciated by UK collectors tracking premium packaging variants.
The runout areas flanking the playing surfaces contain the elite first-press A-1U and B-1U master stampers. Crucially, the dead-wax on both sides displays the famous handwritten "BOPPIN' BOB" engraving, validating that master audio engineer Bob Jones cut the lacquer for this entire issue. This meticulous cutting brings great acoustic warmth to these raw, work-in-progress performances. The tracklist features fascinating embryonic iterations of "(Marie's The Name) His Latest Flame" and "Good Luck Charm" on the initial face. Flipping the record over to Side B reveals wonderful, unvarnished run-throughs of the melodic ballad "Judy" and the blues-infused guitar hooks of "Little Sister".
Our strict quality control protocol dictates that every single item undergoes a thorough visual inspection under a high-intensity lamp. This copy is graded in superb EX/EX condition, meaning both the high-gloss card artwork jacket and the dark vinyl surfaces stay exceptionally clean, reflective, and free from structural flaws. Promising immaculate audio performance with no heavy handling traits, this investment-grade musical treasure includes free domestic postage within the UK.
