This is a vast genre of music covering traditional and folk music from Western Countries to traditional music from non Western Countries.  This now includes pop music and can be a fusion of Western music and African, Asian or Arabic.


Many major pop artists have taken music from other cultures to create a brilliant fusion of styles.  The Police used Caribbean songs in their style of Rock and later, Sting used Arabic rhythms and Arabic singers in one of his albums.  Kate Bush used Arabic songs in some of her music and Paul Simon used traditional African rhythms in his classic album 'Graceland'.
