The 1973 UK pressing of Black Sabbath’s Master of Reality (6360 050) is a rare and highly sought-after transitional release. While the 1971 original famously featured the "swirl" label, this 1973 edition marks the shift to the Vertigo "spaceship" label design.

Unlike the earlier inverted-colour swirl labels, these feature the iconic Roger Dean-designed "spaceship" imagery. This version was produced briefly before the band’s rights were moved to WWA Records due to a contract dispute, leading to many Vertigo spaceship copies being withdrawn from the market.

This pressing is housed in the original-style fully laminated, embossed "box" cover. The cover often opens from the top (or both top and bottom) and features the band and album title in distinctive embossed lettering.

This pressing captures the peak of Sabbath’s heavy, downtuned sound — pioneering the stoner rock and doom metal genres — during a volatile period in their label history. Collectors prize this specific 6360 050 spaceship variant for its rarity and its status as one of the last Vertigo-pressed editions before the transition to WWA's black labels.
