This 1980 milestone album captures the absolute zenith of the post-punk era, tracking the band's transition into mainstream chart domination. Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales during August 1980, the twelve-song track list delivers a masterclass in tribal rhythms and pirate-punk style, running through quintessential anthems like "Dog Eat Dog", "Kings Of The Wild Frontier", and "Los Rancheros". This initial UK issue is highly sought after by new wave purists specifically because of the unique audio history pressed into the side A grooves under the catalogue number S CBS 84549.

Featuring the earliest A2 matrix termination in the dead wax alongside Ray Staff's iconic hand-etched "RAYS" signature, this variant preserves the 1st edition audio mix of "Antmusic". This original album master features a distinctive electronic fade-in intro, a rendering that CBS swiftly replaced on all subsequent pressings with the familiar drumstick-clicking introduction found on the commercial 7-inch single. Furthermore, this true first issue remains completely intact, coming complete with its original colour picture lyric inner sleeve and the elusive 12-page A4 promotional catalogue, which documents the group's history, timeline, and gig archives spanning from 1976 up to 1980.

The condition of this specific archive piece is graded at VG+/EX overall. Both sides of the analogue vinyl are brilliantly clean and well-preserved, promising an exceptionally sharp and dynamic listening experience across every track. The illustrated lyric inner sleeve and the oversized A4 information booklet have both survived in crisp, clean condition. The outer picture jacket remains robust and highly presentable, with the only notable blemish being a faint circular, superficial sticker mark in the top right-hand corner of the front face. It represents a beautifully complete, historically vital artefact for any serious British vinyl collector or Adam Ant fan.
